Researchers from Auburn University in Alabama have created the device that is worn by the dog as a backpack. It can vibrate and make specific noises that the the creature has been trained to respond to.The pack was designed for police dogs, guide dogs, as well as animals on search and rescue missions and tests have shown it to be accurate in 97 per cent of cases.The makers have not confirmed whether such a gadget will one day be available for pet owners however.Mechanical engineers Jeff Miller and David Bevly from the university wanted to develop an 'autonomous' controller that could guide a dog from one location to another.
