Devin Gardner, Jeremy Gallon hook up for 3 TDs as Michigan holds off Notre Dame, 41-30
ANN ARBOR — In the end, Devin Gardner and Jeremy Gallon were just enough.
Michigan's quarterback and top wide receiver hooked up for three touchdowns and the Wolverines held on to defeat Notre Dame, 41-30, in the second night game ever at Michigan Stadium.
Gardner finished 21 of 33 passing for 294 yards and four touchdowns, three of them to Gallon. Gardner also had a career-high 82 yards rushing and a TD.
Gallon finished with a career-high 184 yards receiving on eight receptions.
In a 13-6 loss at Notre Dame last season, the Wolverines had six turnovers, including four interceptions by quarterback Denard Robinson. Michigan had just one turnover Saturday night, a Gardner interception for a touchdown.
